A balanced diet with raw ground chicken is great for Savannah cats. Feed raw food with a combination of high-quality dry food when you choose this diet for your cat’s nutrition.
Our kittens are raised by family with lots of love and socialization in a cage-free home.
Melissa Morris is my name and our cattery is based in Piedmont, OKLAHOMA USA. Since my childhood, animals have captured my heart. Prior to realizing that I didn't want to deal with sick, injured, or dying animals, I wanted to become a veterinarian. I discovered abandoned baby bunnies when I was eight years old, and I fed them formula every several hours until they were big enough to be released. Additionally, until the tiny birds began to hop around and I could release them, I gave them worms every few hours. In addition to volunteering at animal shelters, I have also fostered kittens with specific needs. I completed an aptitude exam before starting college in order to determine my course of study.
It's not surprising that I'm breeding British shorthair cats. I have the luxury of being at home with my children and cats, which gives me the time I need to grow these stunning, uncommon, exotic, and hybrid cats. I nurture all of our kittens in our house with my family of four small children, which makes me different from many other British Shorthair breeders. We love these cats as pets, and their kittens are cherished from birth. Because of the overwhelming love that my husband, kids, and I have for these wonderful creatures, our British shorthair kittens are the most socialized. They are accustomed to dance parties, dress-up, and lots of cuddle time.
The British Shorthair cat is, by far, the most popular pedigree breed of cat in the UK. Although there are only written records for the British Shorthair cat that date back to the beginning of the century, the breed has been in existence for hundreds of years. They were exported in large numbers to the New World where they were very popular. The variety of colours and coat patterns available today have come about from the selective breeding of the best street cats during the nineteenth century and continuing careful breeding plans to the present day.
Grooming your British Shorthair is an essential aspect of their healthcare routine, ensuring a lustrous coat free from mats and tangles. A weekly brush is often sufficient for their dense coat, but during shedding season, they may require more frequent grooming sessions to remove the dead hair and maintain skin health. When it comes to nutrition, selecting a balanced, age-appropriate diet is vital for your British Shorthair's overall wellbeing. Choose high-quality cat food that supports their specific needs; for example, indoor formula cat foods are designed to match their less active lifestyle and can help prevent obesity.Hydration is equally important for your British Shorthair, as they are not known to drink copious amounts of water. Encourage fluid intake by providing constant access to fresh water and consider integrating wet food into their diet to boost moisture consumption.Speaking of dietary considerations, treats should be given sparingly. While it's tempting to give in to those pleading eyes, keep in mind that treats are often calorie-dense and can contribute to weight gain if not moderated in line with their daily nutritional needs.Lastly, don't forget dental hygiene as part of your British Shorthair's grooming regimen. Regularly brushing their teeth can aid in preventing the buildup of plaque and tartar, critical in warding off dental diseases and safeguarding their overall health.
